Who We Are

We provide FORENSIC INTERVIEWS, ADVOCACY, REFERRAL TO MEDICAL EVALUATION for child victim's of a crime.  We provide services to child victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse and child witness to homicides and/or other violent crimes.  Services may also be provided for CHILDREN AT RISK AND NON-OFFENDING FAMILY MEMBERS OR CAREGIVERS.  Services for non-offending family member or caregiver include crisis intervention, resource counseling, accompaniment, and referral assistance for any victim of a crime. 

We provide PREVENTION EDUCATION TRAININGS in regards to child sexual abuse and safe dating for various venues such as school setting, community service providers and professional educational institutions. 
  

Join us and gain important knowledge and insight into the issue plaguing children and adolescents within our community. During the month of January, the Child Advocacy Center Facebook Account @ChenangoCAC will be providing an educational series pertaining "Human Trafficking". 
January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month
Though we have already covered information on this topic, we wanted to share with you about an informative ZOOM meeting held every Friday this month at 7PM, presented by the Southern Tier Human Trafficking Task Force.   Topics for discussion with be on "Helping the Health Care Community Recognize Signs of Human Trafficking", "Beauty from Ashes", A Survivors Story, "Human Trafficking in the United States" and "Awareness and prevention of Human Trafficking in Our Schools".  Hopefully you can join us in these valuable discussions that impact our community.

UPDATES DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS/COVID-19 - CHENANGO CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER BUSINESS IS AS USUAL IN REGARDS TO PROVIDING CRISIS SERVICES IN CONJUNCTION TO  MULTIDISCIPLINARY TEAM (MDT) AGENCIES.   CRISIS SERVICES ARE NOT CURRENTLY AFFECTED BY THIS CHANGE, EXCEPT THAT WE WILL BE SCREENING ALL INDIVIDUALS ENTERING THE FACILITY IN ADDITION TO ALL INTERVIEWS WILL BE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  AS WE MOVE THROUGH THE PANDEMIC, PROGRAMMING OF CHENANGO CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER THAT WERE SUSPENDED, SUCH AS WALK IN SERVICES, OUTREACH EVENTS, PREVENTION EDUCATION TRAINING'S AND THE EMPOWERED CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP WILL BE LIFTED, HOWEVER THE SERVICES MAY LOOK DIFFERENTLY FOR EXAMPLE TRAINING AND EMPOWERED CAREGIVERS SUPPORT GROUP WILL  BE OFFERED ONLINE THROUGH ZOOM.  WE WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED THROUGH OUR WEBSITE & FACEBOOK ACCOUNT @CHENANGOCAC for updates.
INDIVIDUALS RECEIVING COUNSELING SERVICES THROUGH THE CHENANGO CHILD ADVOCACY CENTER
